Concerts, open-air cinema, dance, street performances, heritage, sport, farmers’ markets and major events: there’s something for everyone to get out and about, stroll around, socialise… and enjoy Pau with the Pyrenees as a backdrop.

1. A summer at the cinema A canvas under the stars

6 July to 4 September
‘A Summer at the Cinema’ celebrates its 16th edition with 21 open-air film screenings across nine different venues.
Take a seat under the stars and enjoy convivial evenings in front of the big screen. Whether with family, friends or as a couple, each screening is an invitation to share a moment of relaxation and excitement against the unique backdrop of summer evenings.
A wonderful opportunity to rediscover cinema in a different way, under the open sky.

2. Tour de France Pau, in the wake of the Tour!

8 and 9 July
Pau will be buzzing with the excitement of the Tour de France. As a stage town on the Tour de France route, it will first host a finish at Place de Verdun, before the race sets off towards the legendary mountain passes of the Pyrenees.
For two days, the city will be buzzing with festivities: cycling events, enthusiastic crowds, colourful jerseys and the atmosphere of the peloton. In Pau, the Tour is experienced up close, with panache and a friendly atmosphere.

3. Summer in Pau Music is out in the open!

18 July to 1 August
L’Été à Pau returns to bring the Théâtre de Verdure in Beaumont Park to life for its 45th edition. Ten free evenings, ten different atmospheres, one shared pleasure: singing, dancing and sharing. Chanson, rock, folk, funk, rap, soul, blues or hip-hop… the programme plays on contrasts and caters to all tastes. In the heart of Pau, amidst the lush greenery of Beaumont Park, locals, visitors and tourists can enjoy a popular, generous festival that’s accessible to all. Free entry, booking essential.

4. Polyphony 1st Music and Food Festival!

3–8 August
Paulyphonie is holding its first edition, between Pau and Bizanos.
This new music and food festival brings together classical music, local flavours, regional producers and venues full of character.
Whether at the Théâtre Saint-Louis in Pau or the Château de Franqueville in Bizanos, visitors come to listen, taste and meet new people. A cultural and culinary interlude, to be savoured as much as it is to be applauded.

5. A holiday atmosphere Street Arts Festival

14–16 August
Pau’s Parc Beaumont takes on a festive atmosphere with ‘Un air de vacances’, a free festival dedicated to street arts. In this leafy setting in the heart of the city, families enjoy three joyful days of street performances, circus acts, music, a local farmers’ market and convivial evenings. Stroll, laugh and share: Beaumont Park becomes a huge cultural playground for young and old alike.
Entry to the festival is free and open to all.

6. Hestiv'Oc Festival of Southern Cultures

20–23 August
For its 21st edition, Pau will be pulsing to the rhythm of Hestiv’Oc. For four days, the city centre will celebrate Occitan and Southern French cultures at their most vibrant: music, dance, the Langue d’òc, local flavours and, above all, that wonderful sense of togetherness that suits us so well.
Here, people come to listen, dance, sample local delicacies and stroll about. They let themselves be swept away by the concerts, shows, street entertainment and encounters that bring the city to life from morning till night. A warm, generous festival, deeply rooted in its local area, to be enjoyed by locals, visitors, families and curious souls of all ages.
