Never without Medor Pau ville canine!

Walk with view of the Pyrenees Boulevard des Pyrénées and Parc Beaumont

Of course, you can also take the Boulevard des Pyrénées to Parc Beaumont. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking mountain views.
Once in the park, let your canine companion guide you! There are so many scents to sniff…
Along the way, your faithful pooch can also join you on a funicular ride down to the Sentiers du Roy, just below the Bd des Pyrénées. From there, carefully cross the Avenue Napoléon Bonaparte to reach the Tour des Géants: An open-air museum dedicated to the winners of the Tour de France.

In town with my dog Le Hédas and Les Halles

Visiting Pau with your dog also means discovering the lesser-known heritage of the capital of Bearn. The Hédas district is a place not to be missed with your four-legged friend.

For lunchtime refreshments in the town center, the shaded terrace of Les Halles is the place to be. Although dogs aren’t allowed inside the market, you can enjoy delicious local produce at the outdoor tables.

In town, leash mandatory

No dog without a leash in town or in the parks!
You can let your dog off the leash at the Eaux-Vives Stadium, but be careful with bicycles, as the greenway is not far away. Beware of accidents.

Freedom not so far away

Any ideas for letting your pooch loose not too far from Pau?
Lac de Laroin, Lac des Carolins, the Bastard forest, or the little wood next to the Plaine des Sports in Lons

Doggie bars

To give them something to drink: Near the funicular (at the corner of the path leading down to the Pavillon des Arts), or at the foot of the kiosk in Parc Beaumont, there are fountains where dogs can quench their thirst. Some bars, restaurants and kind-hearted shopkeepers also provide welcome bowls of fresh water, especially on hot days!

Swimming dogs

Swimming on the banks of the Gave is too dangerous because of the currents (dogs are not excellent swimmers).
The nearest beaches authorized for dogs are those on the Landaise coast (Ondres, Tarnos, certain accesses only).

The little train with Medor

Do you dare to take a ride on the little tourist train with your dog? If you’re able to take him on your lap, or if there’s enough room on board, you can embark on a 35-minute guided tour of Palais’s must-see attractions! A great way to relax after a busy day.

Canine outing near the river

Just a short drive from the town center (about 15 minutes on foot from boulevard des Pyrénées), don’t hesitate to visit Parc Aquasports, the king spot for canoeing, kayaking and whitewater sports!
Along the banks of the Gave de Pau in Billère, you can also relax with your dog along the river.

Cani-rando ? Around Pau, the hiking trails!

And as your dog thrives in nature, don’t hesitate to take a stroll along the hiking trails near Pau. There are 40 itineraries to explore. Not far from the center, the Rives du Gave walk or the Franqueville heights will allow your favorite pooch to let off steam in these wide-open natural spaces.
