Lies, exaggerations, and pretense follow one after another in a lively and
biting comedy. Little by little, appearances begin to crack, revealing the absurdity of the situation.
Labiche mocks the need to shine in the eyes of others. Misunderstandings
pile up until they culminate in an explosion of truth that is as funny as it is liberating.
