"Prelude de Pan" is an imaginary rite of passage that draws on the traditions of the Pyrenean carnivals associated with the figure of the Bear. The audience witnesses a fictional ceremonyfictional woman who brings to life a dreamlike being experiencing different states of mind, and who, through its evolution, prompts us to reflect on our connection to others, to the wild, and to Nature. Romain Baudoin (hurdy-gurdy), Line Willerval (gadulka—Bulgarian lyre), and Adrien Chennebault (percussion), create a new, acoustic music, drawing from the intertwined imaginations of bear tamers and those of “choremanies”—phenomena of massive, spontaneous, and, to say the least, unstoppable collective trances. To bring this musical fable to life, the trio invites dancer Eneka Bordato Riaño to inhabit a puppet and embody both the bear and the human through their strange movements.
