The reeds (bagpipes, oboes, sonarels) ring out, the flutes sing, and the castanets lead the way! We dance the bal au mirliton like victims possessed by Pan or any other faun skilled in traditional and festive dance. Leca l’espiula e lh%E8va la cama, lo son de la canav%E8ra que hica lo huec! To close out a seminar co-organized by CERC and the CIRDOC-Institut Occitan de Cultura focusing on traditional single-reed instruments, we’re offering a musical end to the daywith a “Bal au Roseau,” where seminar participants—players of sonarels, albokas, and oboes—will get the audience dancing and put theory into practice!
