  • Grand Prix Hippique de Pau – Winter Meeting Season – Pont-Long racecourse in Pau (December to February)
  • Carnaval Biarnès: 4 days of festivities for an artistic, cultural and festive event in the tradition of the Pyrenean carnival with the judgement of Sent Pançard, responsible for all evils!
  • International tennis tournament: the Teréga Open Pau-Pyrénées welcomes players ranked 50 and above in the world.

March Spring is on its way

  • Coupe Internationale des Pyrénées de Canoë-Kayak: La PYCUP, the best kayakers compete for the cup at the Stade d’Eaux Vives and al Seü d’Urgell in Spain. It’s going to be a great show!

July / August It's summer in Pau!

  • Tour de France: A love story between the greatest cycling race and the capital of the Bearn region
  • L’Été à Pau (Summer in Pau ): This free, open-air festival returns every year with the same intention: to thrill the Théâtre de Verdure and the hearts of the people of Pau!
  • L’Été au ciné (All summer long) : Le Méliès cinema is rolling out its big screen in the gardens so that the stars shine in the sky just like on the big screen. The programme includes around fifteen free screenings in a variety of styles and locations. Bring your folding seat, plaid and cushions to make yourself comfortable.
  • Pau’s sound and light show:
    “Henri IV, l’histoire d’un roi” (All summer) – An opportunity to rediscover the show created especially for the Château de Pau around the story of the good King Henri (Free)
    Le fabuleux destin de Bernadotte” (All summer long) – A show projected onto the church of Saint Jacques, in honour of the Béarnais who became King of the Kingdom of Sweden (Free).
  • The King’s Festival (end of July): In homage to Henri IV, born in the town’s castle. Entertainment, parades in period costumes, music, Béarn dances and traditional markets will bring the town centre to life in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

July / August It's summer in Pau!

  • Un air de vacances (mid-August): The street arts festival will take you by surprise. Acrobats, clowns… between strolls and shows, a unique and offbeat festival!
  • Pau’s sound and light show:
    Henri IV, l’histoire d’un roi” (All summer) – An opportunity to rediscover the show created especially for the Château de Pau around the story of the good King Henri (Free)
    Le fabuleux destin de Bernadotte” (All summer) – A show projected onto the church of Saint Jacques, in honour of the Béarnais who became King of the Kingdom of Sweden (Free)
  • Hestiv’Oc (end of August): Festival of music and culture from the South.
  • Grand Prix de Golf de Pau (late July/early August): A great way to discover Europe’s oldest golf course and enjoy a round on a flawless green.

September Indian summer

  • European Heritage Days (end of September): On the theme of “Architectural heritage”.
  • Les mystères de la cité – Lescar (Next edition > 2027) : Every two years, the medieval town of Lescar takes centre stage with a fantastic medieval weekend: “Les Mystères de la Cité”. This entirely free festival plunges you into the heart of the Middle Ages. Come back in time to Lescar!

October Red vines

  • CCI***** (end of October): France’s only 5***** international eventing competition welcomes the world’s top eventers for the final major event of the season.
  • Festival Accè)s(: electronic cultures and digital arts come together for this 24th edition, which continues to explore the relationship between art and technology.
