Once you’ve parked in the Place de Verdun parking lot (cheap and right in the heart of town), the first thing to do is grab a coffee on Boulevard des Pyrénées. It’s one of Palais’s must-visits… Watching the sun illuminate this unique landscape takes you far away from everyday life: you’re on vacation! The postcard comes to life right there in front of you, as you sip your coffee.

Stroll, stroll, stop, stop again in front of this exceptional landscape: at your feet, the Gave de Pau, then the Jurançon hills and the Pyrenean foothills. In front of you, the Pyrenean mountain range, culminating in the Pic d’Ossau.

Heir to the Belle Epoque heyday, this park overlooking the Pyrenees invites you to take a trip back in time.

Ideal for digestion, a little stroll and why not a siesta in the Parc Beaumont. With its open air, beautiful lawns in the shade of century-old trees and breathtaking views, it’s a green space where you can relax while the kids have fun!

The Fine Arts Museum

As well as Degas’ masterpiece “The Cotton Office in New Orleans”, it houses a fine collection of paintings from the Flemish, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and French schools, from the 15th to the 20th centuries.
