Description
Martin PALMERI has composed a work like no other! A brilliant, warmly-colored work premiered in 1996, with its roots in TANGO and the classical register.
Both secular and sacred, this mass resonates with the nostalgia and magic of Buenos Aires tango.
Based on Latin texts, the composer has written a score that is both learned and popular, for choir (chor'alliances), piano (Jana Carrere Dostrasilova) and bandoneon (Marina Hernaez), an emblematic tango instrument
a mezzo-soprano solo (Marie aimée Etchegorry) punctuates the work, responding to the mixed choir.
This structurally "classical" work blends rhythm, dramatic accents and contemplation.
The contrasts and colors created by the orchestration and the mix of voices are striking, and add an endearing dimension.
