As an essential crossroads between Lourdes, the Atlantic coast and the Pyrenees, there’s always a good reason to come or stop in Pau.

How to get to Pau

Pau is a very accessible, central city between the sea and the mountains. Just 2 hours from the major metropolises of Bordeaux and Toulouse, the capital of the Béarn region is also easy to reach from Spain and the Atlantic coast. It’s also a great stopover on the way to your vacation destination.

By train, several daily connections from Paris (4h), Bordeaux or Toulouse (2h)

Arriving in town: from the SNCF station, cross the forecourt, the “Gave” and take the free funicular to the city center.

If you feel like you’re somewhere else, or even in another time, that’s normal! You’ve arrived in Pau.

  • From Bordeaux: allow 2 hours on the Autoroute de Gascogne (A65) – 150 km
