The mission of the Archives Service of the Pau-Pyrenees urban area is to collect, classify, conserve, communicate and showcase the public and private archives of the urban area and the communities within its territory.
Through the many types of document that have entered its collection since 1408 (civil status and parish registers, letters patent, accounts records, building construction records, population censuses, Municipal Council registers, maps and plans, photographs, postcards, sound recordings, etc.), it traces the entire memory of Pau and its urban area.
The Archives are open to all and can be consulted by all free of charge.
