Séverine Dervaux, mother
Damien Bec, the father
Hervé Suhubiette, the letter carrier and the madman
Children?s choirs from the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Pau and El Camino
Florence Seyvos?s Le village sans papas was commissioned by the OPPB as part of the commemoration of the 1914-1918 war.
The setting is a provincial village in 1914. Fathers go off to war. Many will not return. The children, exhausted, carry on with life, the first innocent victims of forced absence.
Excerpt "? The children, boys and girls, are in the classroom. Their teacher has left for the front. They are waiting for their new teacher. They don't know who it is.
Blaise steps into the teacher's shoes and speculates. He plays the clown. What if it's the priest, who's too old to leave?"
