Directors Michel DRACHOUSSOFF and Robert-Émile CANAT's documentary "Ma Russie éternelle" (My Eternal Russia) offers us exceptional images, a personal vision of the best-known places (Moscow, St. Petersburg), and many others that are much less well known (the White Sea, Karelia). This film presents us with the most beautiful aspects of ancient Russia, through its grandiose cities, its palaces, the bulbs of its churches and cathedrals, its popular festivals. The strong, uncompromising commentary plunges us into the reality of contemporary Russia, in search of its roots and trying to come to terms with its often tragic history.
A highly personal journey of great beauty and poetry.
