Farnaz Modarresifar is a French-Iranian composer, santurist and improviser born in Teheran.
Lulled by Western and Persian classical music, Farnaz Modarresifar trained at the National Conservatory and the University of Teheran, in the Faculty of Fine Arts, where she won first prize for interpretation. She studied the santûr, a Persian table zither, both in improvisation
and traditional repertoire. Winner of several national and international competitions, she has appeared on France Musique several times.
Farnaz Modarresifar is currently a resident at the Académie de France in Rome, Villa Médicis.
