Where sports live and breathe! To each his own stage

Big stadiums for big clubs!

Pau is a sporting city: 5 of the region’s top teams regularly perform at national and even international level. But what would a team be without its supporters and a stadium, a modern-day arena? Our entire region vibrates to the sound of its sports enthusiasts. Basketball, rugby, soccer, handball, pelota, jeu de Paume, horse-riding and even kayaking are just some of the exhilarating encounters that take place all year round! One sport, one place, one team!

1. The Palais des Sports Temple of basketball

The Palais des Sports seats over 7,000 people for basketball, handball and volleyball matches.

This stadium, with its modern, functional architecture, is the beating heart of the Elan Béarnais Pau Orthez (an alliance between the Orthesian basketball club and the city of Pau), one of the “mythical stadiums of the Pro A” according to the sports newspaper l’Equipe. Our basketball club began its adventure in 1931, became French champion in 1992, and continues to excel at professional level.
