A real break where everyone can breathe, where you can take the time to stretch your legs and your head, before hitting the road again for the final stretch before the finish. Chloé, Béarn in the pau

I love spending quality time with my little tribe, and it's a real treat to pass on my "appetite" for food and culture!

Getting to the heart of the matter

  1. The easiest place to park is Place de Verdun, right next to the town center, the château and the historic heart… and it’s cheap! (€1.50 for a half-day and €3 for a full day). Follow the signs!
  2. Bathroom breaks! There are two free public toilets on the Place de Verdun.
One on the north ring and the other on the south ring.
  3. To make sure you don’t waste any time and to get concise and precise advice, depending on what you want to do and how much time you have, head for the Tourist Office!
  4. Let’s go for a 2-hour tour…

“When you leave the Tourist Office, you’re just a stone’s throw from the Château! Here’s a hint: you’re on Rue Henri IV!”

Stretching your legs Enter the postcard

You’re in for a real treat!

Esplanade de Vigny: the funicular! But that’s for another time!

Follow the Ariadne’s thread, the famous railing of the Boulevard des Pyrénées. The terraces of bars and restaurants line up in front of a postcard of palm trees and snow-capped peaks.

You can take the stroll as far as the Parc Beaumont for a breath of fresh air and a flight of free-ranging children! Take a stroll through the park and return to the Boulevard des Pyrénées entrance via the Oscar bridge.

Walk up to Square Aragon and turn right under the line of lime trees to the Palais des Pyrénées. You’re now in Place Clémenceau.

If you feel like it and have the time to indulge, cross the street and head for Les Halles. You’ll find everything to delight your taste buds and your ears!

End of break Back on the road for the vacations

Turn right down the rue-pont overlooking the historic Hédas district, and you’ll arrive at the monumental Place Gramont, the square with 23 arcades.
Opposite you, you’ll find Place de Verdun and your car!
