Born in Alabama in 1943, he made his name in the 1960s alongside James Brown, for whom he was musical director and co-writer of numerous funk classics. Today, at the head of his own jazz-funk band, he continues to rock stages
the world. He is in concert at the Foirail on November 21 and 22, as part of the Jazz à Pau season.
