Edmony Krater, a self-taught percussionist, singer and trumpeter from Guadeloupe, is one of the most creative artists of his generation. From an early age, he was immersed in the sounds and rhythms of the gwoka culture. He helped found the legendary Gwakasonné group, one of the leading lights of modern gwoka.
On his arrival in Paris, he recorded several albums and played with many West Indian musicians, as well as with Bernard Lubat, Claude Nougaro and Dany Revel, who was musical director of the famous American group Golden Gate Quartet.
He holds a State Diploma in traditional percussion, and teaches Ka at the Montauban Conservatoire, the Guadeloupean drum that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
