A third place through history

At La Forge Moderne, it’s a family affair, a typically Pau story, which has been going on for over 150 years. Close to the train station, in the old industrial district near the Gave de Pau, sixteen craftsmen keep this third-party associative space alive. People like to come here to bargain hunt, party, grab a bite to eat, have a drink and chat in a space in constant transition. A story of heritage A place in transition

In the 19th century, while the upper town was developing as a holiday resort, the arrival of the train along the Gave transformed the town: around the Gave, a zone of hangars and industry developed. Over the years, this area gradually fell into disrepair and became wasteland. Today, thanks to La Forge Moderne, which has become an artisan village, brothers Pierre and Sylvain Garms and a group of partners are revitalizing the site and creating a new dynamic. This approach has created a truly virtuous ecosystem:
